All structural elements (header, footer, nav, main, etc) render as block level elements, but show no visual difference between them. However, by looking at the tag, you know something about the content in it (assuming the developer coded it correctly). This makes it easier to maintain but also provides a wealth of information to Search Engines as they rank your site and visually impaired users who might use screen reader software to access your site.
