I was once excoriated on a public listserv of my peers and colleagues, a listserv I started. It was awesome in every opposite sense of that word. While the person probably went too far in a professional setting, many of her points were accurate, and I might have dismissed them if they weren’t delivered in such a caustic manner. Much as I hate to say it, because of her feedback, the work was better.
Try to set your pained feelings aside and look at it objectively. If part of you agrees with their assessment of the work, swallow your pride, smash a zombie in their honor, and make it better.
